Any/all University High School students can meet and discuss politics with various local civic servants over pizza at this afterschool program hosted by our youth librarians at University High School.

This monthly civics engagement program will meet again on Thursday, FEBRUARY 9 at 3:00 pm. Teens will get to meet and talk with  Jim Townsend, director of the Levin Center at Wayne Law.

This program is for UHS students only.

Jim Townsend is a former member of the Michigan legislature, has practiced law in the Detroit office of Butzel as a member of its Corporate and Real Estate Practice Group and is the director of the Levin Center at Wayne Law. He serves on the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s advisory council of the Redevelopment Ready Communities® program. Before his career in law, Townsend worked with U.S. Representative Nita M. Lowey and for U.S. Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg.
