Pizza & Politics (for UHS Students)
Any/all University High School students can meet and discuss politics with various local civic servants over pizza at this afterschool program hosted at University High School.
This monthly civics engagement program will meet on October 4, November 10, and December 8, at 3:00 pm. Our first guest speaker will be Ferndale Mayor Pro Tem Kat Bruner James.
For UHS students, only.

Kat Bruner James is the current Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Ferndale. She was elected to Ferndale City Council in 2019. Kat’s public service activities have included: Treasurer and Volunteer Coordinator for Ferndale for Instant Runoff Voting, Chairperson of Citizens for a Fair Ferndale, Ferndale Inclusion Network Planning Committee, and the Ferndale Civil Service Board In 2015, Kathryn was recognized as Ferndale’s Citizen of the Year. She has practiced civil rights litigation since 2007.
